Obedience for Agility - Entry Level to Agility & Obedience for the Real World

For:  Any dog 12 weeks and older who needs, or has and wants to reinforce, basic obedience skills with distractions, and/or handler who has never learned, or needs a refresher, in "what we teach" as noted below.

What we teach in this class:

• Use of a clicker
• Training and/or reinforcement of basic obedience; come, stay, sit, down, stay, wait 
• Targeting
• Flatwork on leash, including "heeling" on both sides, turns, moving downs and sits
• Introduction to some obstacles
• Hind end awareness (the dog's)

Foundation  

For: Dogs and/or handlers who have taken Obedience for Agility or dogs and/or handlers who understand use of a clicker, targets and have good obedience skills

What we teach in this class:

• Introduction to some obstacles at low heights
• Introductory jumping skill exercises (dog's age is taken into account)
• Elementary handling skill exercises
• Establishing performance criteria (start line stay, end contact behavior)
• Introduction to weave poles (dog's age is taken into account)
• Reinforcement of flatwork & obedience skills

Foundation I

For: Dog and handler teams who have taken or have proficiency in skills taught in Foundation

What we teach in this class:

• Advancement of contact, jumping & weave skills
• Advancement of handling skills
• Reinforcement of performance criteria
• Reinforcement of flatwork & obedience skills

Foundation II

For: Dog and handler teams who have taken or have proficiency in skills taught in Foundation I

What we teach in this class:

• Advancement of contact, jumping & weave skills
• Advancement of handling skills
• Reinforcement of performance criteria
• Reinforcement of flatwork & obedience skills

Pre-Competition

For: Dog and handler teams who have taken or have proficiency in skills taught in Foundation II

What we teach in this class:

• Advancement of contact, jumping & weave skills
• Advancement of handling skills
• Reinforcement of performance criteria
• Reinforcement of flatwork & obedience skills
• How to walk an agility course
• Sequencing of obstacles

Competition

For: Dog & handler teams who have taken Pre-Competition or who are already competing

What we teach in this class:

• Continued advancement of contact, jumping & weave skills
• Continued advancement of handling skills
• Reinforcement of performance criteria
• Reinforcement of flatwork & obedience skills
• Tightening course times by path and handling option analysis

Private Lessons are available for all of the above
